Team Sky’s leader Chris Froome faces a tough test this year to retain his title, if he does so it will be his fifth consecutive win placing him amongst the sport’s absolute elite.
Currently the holder of all three grand tours, this year sees “Froomey” and Team Sky facing tough competition from a number of teams not least from France’s favourite Romain Bardet from AG2R.
The presentation ceremony ahead of the Grand Depart proved to be a great opportunity to photograph the riders and the team infrastructure that supports the riders on their three week tour around France.
All images are taken with the PL12-60mm f/2.8-4 other than the on-stage images at the presentation that were taken with the PL 100-400mm f/4-6.3 mostly at the 400mm (800mm full frame equiv) end of the zoom range in fading light, all hand held making the most of the superb image stabilisation of the G9.
