This morning, before dawn, we headed off into the hills to the north of Kitulgala.
The main target for the day being the rare and endemic Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush. To say that this Thrush, and indeed all Thrushes in Sri Lanka, is a major skulker would be no understatement, they are very difficult to find and when you do find one getting a decent view is even harder. That said our fantastic guide Thilli did manage to sniff one out and after some patient waiting I did manage to get the camera on a rather fine male bird.

and once again some nice views of the Common Green Lizard.
