Photobombed

I didn’t buy the Sony A7Riv for wildlife but the wildlife at Dove Stone Reservoir didn’t care and this little chap kept photobombing me ! Clearly well used to people he was determined to get in on the show so it would have been rude not to frame up a few shots of him (could be a her of course as no sexual dimorphism in Robins).

Now an interesting aspect of this image is the crop. I have cropped in post from the full 61mp down to 21mp so that is a 1/3 crop and a greater crop than using the A7Riv in APS-C crop mode (26mp) and yet the detail in this image is absolutely stunning. This does leave me wondering what could be acheived with say the Sony 100-400mm G Master lens with the camera in APS-C crop mode.

The image below is an even tighter crop at just 18mp, still plenty of detail.
