Today was the start of a week of Fiesta activities in our nearby village and tonight they were kicking things off with a local band (Grupo de Música popular Tababairet) – now this kind of thing is not really my bag as you may have noticed that I rarely if ever photograph people – however I was keen to give the G9s high iso performance a try so off I headed to get a few “snaps”.
And I am quite pleased with the results really – sure if you pixel peep you can see there is some noise in the images where I have lifted the shadows but generally I find the image quality quite pleasing given they were captured at iso 2500. These were taken at metered exposure, I suspect had I over-exposed a bit I would have had more latitude with the shadows – that said I think in these kind of images it is better to tolerate some shadow noise rather than blowing out the highlights.
As always click on the images to see them bigger.
