On 30th May Panasonic issued the first firmware update for the G9. It can be downloaded from Panasonic’s website here.
The changes are quite minor but do include some tweaks to autofocus in video mode which may help with autofocus in 6K photo mode and also some changes to the hi-res mode including allowing apertures as small as f/11 to be used (was f/8 previously) and also some supposed inprovements to the way subject movement is handled.
I will be doing some tests to see if the improvements are noticable in due course.
The update proceedure is very simple but does require a full battery, I updated without issue.
